How can a kombucha benefit my health?

Kombucha is not just any drink, it’s a fermented elixir with a range of potential health benefits, thanks to the probiotic bacteria produced during fermentation. these little bugs are super important for our health, providing balance in the intestinal microbiota and boosting the immune system. plus, kombucha can be a potential remedy for digestive disorders like ibs, as it can alleviate bloating, gas, and constipation.

But that’s not all! kombucha also contains digestive enzymes that aid in the breakdown of food, enhancing nutrient absorption. it’s a source of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body. kombucha has even been shown to regulate blood sugar levels, support the immune system, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer.

How much kombucha should you drink in a day?

Drink it because you like it, drink it because it adds to your healthy active lifestyle. if you’re new to the drink, it’s best to start slow and gradually increase your intake. we recommend starting with 100-200ml per day and seeing how you feel. and remember, diversity is key! combine your probiotics from kombucha with other fermented foods and beverages to get maximum strain diversity for a healthy gut. cheers to a happy and healthy gut!

Can kombucha be stored out of the fridge?

Actually, real kombucha is a living drink that requires careful storage to preserve the beneficial bacteria and yeast. at our company, we make raw and alive kombucha, which means it needs to be kept at a temperature below 4 degrees celsius to pause the fermentation process and keep the good bacteria in their active state. if you see kombucha sitting at room temperature, it’s likely to be pasteurised, filtered, or even have alcohol content that exceeds the legal limit.

It’s worth noting that there are two types of kombucha on the market: real fermented and fake made. when looking for a live, raw kombucha with nutritional benefits, be wary of shelf-stable products with a long shelf life. these products may be pasteurised or made with concentrated vinegar, which means they won’t offer the same benefits as a truly fermented kombucha.

Is kombucha beneficial if its pasteurised or heat treated , and micro filtered?

Never! as soon as you heat or pasteurise kombucha you kill the good bugs! kombucha simply becomes flavoured water – and that’s pretty dull. the high heat and filtration processes can kill or remove the live cultures of bacteria and yeast, which are the sources of probiotics and enzymes that contribute to gut health and other potential benefits. it’s important to read the label and look for raw, unpasteurised, and unfiltered kombucha to ensure you’re getting the potential health benefits of live cultures.

Is twisted kombucha low in sugar?

Absolutely! on average twisted kombucha has 3g of sugar per 100ml. most soft drinks and fruit juices sit at about 11g per 100ml.

Is artificially sweetened kombucha good for my health?

You might think that artificially sweetened kombucha is a healthier option, but hold up! sugar is actually a key ingredient in the fermentation process, where the bacteria and yeast gobble it up and produce all sorts of awesome stuff like organic acids, probiotics, and other beneficial compounds. plus, let’s be real, artificial sweeteners have some major health concerns when consumed in excess. they can mess with your gut bacteria (hello, gut dysbiosis) and have even been linked to potential risks like weight gain, diabetes, and cancer. no thank you!

When it comes to kombucha, it’s always best to go for the real deal with natural sweeteners like sugar, fruits, and botanicals in moderation. don’t worry, most of the sugar is consumed during fermentation, so the final product has a low sugar content. just be sure to check the label for added sugar and opt for brands with lower amounts. trust us, your gut will thank you!

What are those floaty bits in my kombucha?

Don’t worry about those little floaty bits in your kombucha bottle. they’re totally normal and actually a sign of a really well-fermented kombucha! those little bits are called “scoby” which stands for “symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast” and it’s what makes kombucha so unique and healthy. you can drink your kombucha with or without those floaty bits, or you can strain them out if you prefer. if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even use those floaty bits to make your own kombucha starter at home. so don’t be afraid of the floaties, embrace them as a sign of a delicious and healthy drink!
